Hi, I’m Nichola Vickers

I definitely have a passion for numbers and creating organisation from chaos. When deciding on a career I was tempted to become a teacher or a detective but I decided to follow in my fathers footsteps and become an accountant.  I like to think that this has enabled me to combine all of my career aspirations into one very satisfying one.  I love puzzles and get great satisfaction from balancing a messy bank account.  I am one of the few people you meet who loves a ‘shoebox’ full of receipts to turn into a quarterly VAT return or year end set of accounts – so bookkeepers are a kind of detective!  I love to do the work of course but I also like to explain to my clients what I have done and why to help shape the business for the future, so there’s the teaching – minus a classroom full of energetic children, although I know some businesses are just like that.

I know how challenging it is to run a business so I wanted to create a support mechanism to allow your business to thrive and survive in this crazy world. Nickbooks is a safe and friendly place where there are no stupid questions and we are here to help you.  We want to make your lives easier by reducing the stress and bringing some order into the way your finances are handled.

When I’m not adding up figures, cross casting a bank account or producing easy to follow and logical accounts I devote my time to my family.  With 2 grown up children of 18 and 26 and a family dog, I am testament that life doesn’t get easier as they get older.  We are a busy family who loves to have fun together,  exploring new places and playing games and laughing.  We have travelled the world together – living abroad for over 20 years with my husbands job, so I have many stories to tell when we meet.
